Big Day in Charlottesville

Sometimes a day is important because of the things that happen to you. Other times the importance comes from knowing that something wonderful is happening for someone you love. Like today — it’s my grandmother’s 95th birthday!  Isn’t that fantastic?

Although I can’t be there to celebrate, I’ve been with her in spirit all day. I’ve pictured how she’s probably sitting in her favorite floral glider on the sunporch watching the birds land on the bird feeder.  How her unairconditioned house is probably still summertime muggy. And how she’s most likely taking this monumental achievement in stride.

Happy Birthday, Lou! I love you!
